Christoph Tang

Professor Chris Tang is currently Professor of Infectious Diseases at Imperial College London at the Centre for Molecular Microbiology and Infection. His group is interested in the interaction between bacterial pathogens and the host innate immune system. He previously worked at the University of Oxford in the Department of Paediatrics as an MRC Clinician Scientist studying the genetic basis of meningococcal virulence. He studied for his PhD at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School on virulence factors in the fungal pathogen, Aspergillus fumigatus. Chris also trained in medicine at the University of Liverpool and spent two years working in The Gambia, West Africa.
