Professor Christoph Tang is currently Professor of Cellular Pathology at the Sir William Dunn School of Pathology at the University of Oxford, having recently moved from the Centre forMolecular Microbiology and Infection at Imperial College London. His group studies the pathogenesis and prevention of disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis and Shigella flexneri, particularly during interactions with the host innate immune system. He was previously an MRC Clinician Scientist at the University of Oxford, and completed his PhD at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School on the identification of virulence factors in the fungal pathogen, Aspergillus fumigates. Christoph originally trained in medicine at the University of Liverpooland spent two years working in The Gambia, West Africa.
