Do you have an Edward Elgar £20 at home?
In just a few weeks this will be taken out of circulation, rendering it quite worthless quite soon.
If like me you've still got one of these old notes in your wallet we've put together a handy guide for you so they don't go to waste. Some potential uses include:
1. A visual aid for a “Spot the Queen” game in central London. (it should help differentiate her from the other crown-wearers in the central London area)
2. Folded vertically at either end of Her Majesty’s mouth and in the centre of her mouth, and tilted repeatedly to show what the queen looks like when happy/glum/happy/glum.
3. Something to light your cigars with if you want to look like a high-roller.
4. A portable way of checking Elgar’s year of birth and death (1857-1934)
5. A large piece of pleasingly purple notepaper with a small awkward-shaped place to write things.
